Happy Birthday Lady Katherine and a quick MM

Happy New Year Sweet Lady Katherine!

Please go visit her and wish her a happy birthday. Click here

I am combining Lady Katherine's celebration with a little quick Met. Monday post.

Please come out on my porch and let's celebrate your birthday!

But before we get settled in, I'd like to show you a quick little metamorphosis that I created for a fun and organic look to our little porch tea party.

It starts off with a clear glass or vase. I used a straight vase, but a water glass would work just as well.

The next step is to go to your local grocery store and buy one bunch of asparagus.

Then you simply take the rubber band that was holding your asparagus together and put it around the vase..... you get the idea, right? Start inserting the asparagus between the glass and the rubber band.

I got lucky, and was able to use every last one... it filled in around just right.

Now, just look around your house and find a ribbon, raffia or a piece of fabric and tie it up, trying to cover up the rubber band.

Insert your garden or grocery store flowers inside and you have a fancy smanscy designer bouquet. I believe it couldn't be simpler or more elegant.

So this concludes the metamorphosis part .... hope you'll be inspired to create one of your own.

Now, let's get on with the tea party!!!

This teapot caught my eye while shopping at Marshalls. Just my style... hand painted and so cheerful.

I hope you like Lipton, Katherine. I like simple unflavored tea the best...

These are called Italian Fruit.. sugar and creamer... just in case!

I just adore using sugar cubes, don't you? It makes it feel so special.

Plain little butter cookies on the side and brewed tea...

Lady Katherine, it was my pleasure to host a little tea party for you. I sure hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Wishing you a year that is filled with joy, laughter and good health!

Girl...your tea for Lady Katherine is simply divine!!! How sweet of you to honor her and her birthday!!!

Rose, if your asparagus vase isn't the grandest idea..I don't know what is! It turned out beautifully...so unique and I love that! I am going to remember this idea and use it in the future!!! And...your fresh flowers are simply beautiful in that unique vase!!! My friend, you have some of the prettiest dishes!!! I just adore your little blue & yellow teapot with the cherries on the front...it's soooo cute!!! Love it all!!!

Girl, I have to tell you that you get some of the most beautiful photos that I've ever seen!!! Are you a professional? Since RMS and blogging, I have become really interested in photography but must admit that I really don't know much about it! Thank God for digital cameras because I wouldn't be able to afford all of the film that I would have to process! Hehe!!! I notice that you use a "softening" technique on alot of your photos...when you get some time, I'd love for you to share with me what photo software that you use and how you achieve this effect! Simply amazing photos, Sweetie!!!

    Happy Met Monday!
    Love ya,
    Chari
