me
I'm so excited to participate in Susan's Met Monday! I have to say that out of everything that enjoy creating.... a trash to treasure is surely my favorite!
I picked up this little orphan at the thrift store for $ 2.00 . This had been someone's dining room chair for many years. The right arm had been gnawed on either by a dog or a baby, not sure which... had to get the trusty sander out and smooth it out a bit. It had seen better days and even the cashier looked at it and just had a pitiful expression on her face.
.. I really think she felt sorry for me for having to buy such a sorry piece of firewood... But I had some grand plans for this little baby....
A little white paint, black accents and a dashing black and white damask fabric was all it took to get Cinderella to the ball...
POOOOOOOF !!!!!!!!
So you might call me the "Fairy Godmother" ..........
One of my favorite creations. As most of you know I have a little addiction to chairs and this is one is close to my heart.
Thanks for poppin' by, now go see some more amazing transformations at Susan's blog, Between Naps on the Porch.

The chair was great! I can just imagine the clerk at the store. They just don't see things like we do. Sometimes I don't see what others do either. :) But what I loved most of all was the use of the Cinderella Fairy Godmother images. HOW DID YOU DO THAT? Clever girl! Thanks for sharing.
Love the black & white, not to mention the cane! You should take before/after pictures back to the lady at the the thrift store, and maybe she won't feel so bad for you the next time. She might even save you some more! Thought about you last week when I passed through NE Columbia!
You've definitely got an "eye" for a diamond in the rough. What a beautiful project!
Rose, your "chair visions" are absolutely extrodinary! You are the fairy godmother of chairs. Love this transformation. Now, let's talk about a chair I need in my bedroom...

Hi Rose! Thanks for coming by to visit! ♥♥♥
Steve called our floor installer friend to discuss my gouged areas. He's going to cut the tongue & pull up the damaged planks & replace them.
I have a bunch of the moving scooty pads, but Steve & Chris would have had to pick up each end of the behemoth curio cabinet to put the pads under it... It's a BIG cabinet & very heavy, especially with all my sparkly treasure in it that I didn't want to unload. I thought I could move it without involving them, but gouging the floor didn't enter my mind.... My BAD!
♥ Diane
It's beautiful! I can't believe that you got it for $2! Nice!! I have a couple of chairs that I want to recover and yours definitely gives me some inspiration! Thank you!
~Karla
