A Springy Metamorphosis
On March 17th our little garden club decided to plant wheat grass for cute little Easter decorations.
I chose a couple of small silver dishes I never use and lined them with aluminum foil.
Next we poured some nice Miracle Grow potting soil in each container.
You really need to cover the soil with a solid layer of wheat grass seeds. I believe you can buy them in health food stores. Some in my group said they had used rye seeds before and you can find these at your local hardware stores.
I tried to sprinkle the seeds lightly with a bit of soil to cover them, however, some said that it wasn't necessary.
After planting, water daily and put near a sunny window. It won't be long until you see a wonderful metamorphosis.....
Are you ready to see what it looks like less than 2 weeks later?
I was amazed!!!
Here I just stuck in a couple of my silk forthysia sprigs...
Here's a little silver pail I had bought at Target last year and was so happy to have used as a planter because you can see the roots!
Debbie, from Confessions of a Plate addict has this little guy's girlfriend, we won them from Gollum's booksigning tour.
If you are looking for a fun Springy Metamorphosis, try this, it is easy and fun. Now I'll have to figure out a little tablescape to go with it.
