^^ Let's Share" No Brainer" Dinner Ideas ^^

Today, while watching Oprah, Christina Ferrari gave 3 different meals that you could make from a roasted chicken... Chicken Enchiladas, Chicken Pot Pie and .....I don't know the third one because I got a phone call and missed it. So that gave me an idea, (I'm sure this has been done to death)....

I want us to share some recipes that are our standbys... no measuring, no thinking and nothing that takes over 10 mins to prepare. Just quick and simple. This doesn't mean cooking time. I'm just concerned with the hands on work here.

So many of you have told me how creative I am, and I truly appreciate that, but when it comes to cooking.....it doesn't apply to me! I don't really like to cook, of course I LOVE to eat (who doesn't )... So if we pick each others brains, you never know, you might find a new favorite, no brainer!

So.... come on, if you have 3 NoBrainer Entrees that are easy and delicious, let's share them! You don't have to have three... you can do one or two...

Let me know if you would like to participate by Sunday 9PM and I'll post the list and links to your blog on Monday.

BON APPETIT....

I don't like to cook either. I'll play along provided I don't have to provide photos! Posted some Santas over at my place, if you'd like to take a peek.

My no-brainer main dish is roasted chicken breasts. Just made them last night for me and the girls. I buy them with the bone, and skin-on, but I've made it without the skin too.

I just pour olive oil over them, lots of garlic powder, salt and pepper, sometimes some lemon, and then for added flavor, Teriyaki. This will kind of burn on the pan, so near the end I pour more over. Baste ocassionally and YUM! Oh, I bake them at 350 for 45 minutes or so, until my thermometer says they're about 170 degrees. Oh, and use the drippings to dip!

Great idea Rose,I think we're all always looking for ideas.Long story short.I had alot-of green tomatoes. For some reason, they wouldn't turn red.Well, you can only eat so many fried green tomatoes.So--you can make soup out of anything right?I said what the hay.It was delicious, even dh loved it.I thought I invented it,right?I told all my friends,I was so proud.
A few days later I was on foodnetwork.com looking for a creme sauce receipe and BOOM,there it was.Emeral beat me to it.The receipe's aren't similar at all,but I THOUGHT I INVENTED IT.BBAAAA...Ann If anyone would like the receipe,I'd love to share, but I don't have a blog, not all of us are gifted in that area...

Not much of a cook here, but can I be on the receiving end, pleeeaase?? I'll try to come up with something so I won't seem so selfish, but it'll be a stretch for me. What a great idea!!
Thanks.

Truly you must share your secret for setting a table. It always looks so poetic. I have 5 kids so I couldn't make it look that lovely, but maybe some hints will help me make it look prettier.

An easy no brainer is to wrap a couple of pieces of chicken or pork in some foil with fave BBQ or fave Italian Dressing inside. Place foil wrapped product on pan and bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes. Serve with salad or side veggies.

I look forward to seeing others.

Hi Rose...hey, does it have to be an entree'? I've got an old stand by dessert that probably everyone already has but if not, count me in!
Great idea by the way...'cuz we all know how much time blogging gobbles up.. ;-) Bo

Here is one of my favorite stand-bys that helped me many nights when our 5 kids were young!

Fry up a lb or so of Ground Beef
Add onion, little garlic.
Dump in a can tomato soup, can of green beans.

Mix up a batch of boxed Garlic Mashed Potatos, place on top-cover with Cheddar Cheese and bake at 350 until cheese is nice and bubbly and brown. Adjust to how many your serving!

All of them sound sooooo scrumptous particularly the Chkn-Pear Salad, topped with red Onions. Nutritious, light 'n easy. Definitely will try it..... Mmm, Mmm Good!

P.S: ...Off subject, do you plan to post any of your exquisite hand-made creations closer to Christmas? It would be such a treat to see them.

Hi Santa! Thanks for "following me"! You had to know I laughed a/b Baby Alive being constipated! Now that's funny...I do remember that doll. I was just thinking of you & Susan (BNOP) because I had just sent one of my fellow HS classmates an e-mail, and he's down in Atlanta. I always wonder if you all are neighbors, but I'm a "closet blogger", so he doesn't know my little secret :O).
